With painting as a tool for visual exploration, Adrián González interprets and problematizes forms and structures contained in photographic images with the purpose of giving them a new role in the appreciation of experiences, questioning their connotations and their value as reliable record of reality. He reflects on our relation with the world of images and the impact they have on the personal imagery, on how the contact between an individual and the environment is instrumentalized through the image, or a screen, and to address that being present is no longer needed to visualize a place.
Adrián González has exhibited his works in Galería Alterna, Luis Adelantado, ENPEG La Esmeralda, Diagrama and Centro Cultural Periodista, in Mexico City. He has been part of the X National Biennial of Painting and Engraving “Alfredo Zalce” in Mexico City; JUSTMAD 7 Emerging Art Fair in the Architecture College in Madrid, Spain; the XI Biennial of Painting “Joaquín Clausell” in Campeche, Mexico; the II Contest of Plastic and Graphic Arts “Dr. Alfonso Pérez Romo” in Aguascalientes, Mexico; among other. He was part of the FONCA 2015-2016 Young Creators Program. His work is part of private and public collections such as the Sebastián Foundation.
